A PEOPLE PERSON, FIRST.

Photographer, second.

I’ve always been drawn to people. Their personalities, their relationships, the way they interact when they’re completely comfortable being themselves. I’m naturally curious, a little expressive (okay, very expressive), and genuinely love getting to know the people in front of my camera. Somewhere along the way, that love for connection became the foundation of my work.

I grew up on old Hollywood musicals, courtesy of my mom. Singin’ in the Rain, Oklahoma!, Seven Brides for Seven Brothers — the kind of stories filled with grand romantic gestures, sweeping romances, and the occasional handsome cowboy. (For the record, Curly from Oklahoma! was my first celebrity crush.)

So yes, I’ve always been a romantic.

For a long time, I thought love would look something like the movies I watched or the books I couldn’t put down. But experiencing it for myself taught me that love is so much more complicated, vulnerable, and beautifully human than I ever imagined.

And while my understanding of love has changed over the years, my appreciation for it has only grown.

Maybe that’s why I find so much meaning in photographing weddings. Beyond the beautiful clothes, flowers, and celebrations, there are real people with their own histories, relationships, and reasons for choosing one another.

And I think there’s something pretty incredible about being invited to witness that.

With a little more perspective these days.

A ROMANTIC AT HEART.

old Hollywood / good books / family gatherings / meaningful conversations / a little bit of nostalgia
